MIER Launch 2nd June

The MIER was officially launched by Chancellor Alistair Darling on 2nd June 2008, in front of over 300 leading figures from the private and public sectors. Keynote speeches were delivered by: the Rt Hon Alistair Darling MP and Chancellor; Rt Hon Hazel Blears MP and Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government; and from key funding partners: Bryan Gray, Chairman of the NWDA; and Jonathan Kestenbaum, Chief Executive Officer at NESTA. The event also received significant local and national media attention.
